100% Pineapple Juice. CORDIALS uses 100% natural processed quality Juices without Calcium. Also fresh squeezed Juices are splendid but make no economic sense.
It is believed to date back to English Sea Captain Sir Francis Drake. Some of Drake´s antics don´t pitch him as the perfect poster boy for a Cocktail. The story goes that the ship´s stockpile of supplies was plundered and a little sugarcane spirit, Mint, and Lime made into a cup. Beyond Drake´s penchant for the finer things in life, the drink was thought to be medicinal.
In Cuba, they´ll serve the drink over cubed ice and the process is properly rapid, although not always balanced.
Aesthetically it´s not as pleasing - but then you´re in Cuba and, frankly who cares, right?
